Laura Wright is the Executive Director and Director of Life-Long Learning at Temple Sholom. Laura is delighted to be part of Temple Sholom and to serve in a position that includes such a wonderful range of roles and responsibilities.
Prior to joining Temple Sholom, Laura’s professional career included teaching (pre-school to college-level), research, and project administration. Most recently she worked as a director in a clinical research organization.
Laura discovered Judaism as an adult and has been the grateful beneficiary of numerous synagogue educational opportunities that nurtured her love of Judaism and of Jewish educational programming.
Since moving to Cincinnati in 2006, Laura has been actively involved in the Jewish Community. When her children were younger she taught mathematics, provided preschool/kindergarten science enrichment programming, and volunteered at Rockwern Academy. More recently her avocational work has included teaching religious school and volunteering on synagogue religious school boards.
Laura grew up in Monmouth, a small town in Illinois, and has also lived in Madison Wisconsin, San Francisco, and Washington DC. Laura and her husband Harry Guttman have two children, a daughter Quince (22) and a son Fletcher (16).
