I am thrilled to be joining Temple Sholom as the new Director of Education! I have felt like part of the Sholom community for the past three years while my husband, Michael, served as Rabbinic Fellow, and I am excited to come on board officially! The warmth of members and staff has always made me feel welcome and the mission and purpose driving everything at Sholom has been inspiring to watch. Originally from New Jersey, I graduated from Northwestern University, where I studied Social Policy and Economics. Upon graduation, I spent a year volunteering in small communities throughout Israel before returning to New York where I worked at UJA-Federation. I received my Master’s in Religious Education from Hebrew Union College- Jewish Institute of Religion last year and will be ordained a rabbi in 2017. While at HUC I have served student pulpits in Michigan, Florida and Long Island and interned at Wise Temple and Rockdale here in Cincinnati. I received a certificate in Israel Education from the iCenter and am an AIPAC Israel Engagement fellow. Michael and I are the parents of an energetic and hilarious one-year-old son, Benjamin and are expecting a baby girl this summer. I look forward to working with our education team as we engage the children of our congregation, along with their adults, in an exciting Jewish journey. I hope to get to know every member of our community as we learn and engage in this sacred work together.
