The b’nai mitzvah is traditionally seen as a coming of age moment in a Jewish person’s life. We learn Hebrew, read from the Torah, offer a sermon and lead the community in prayer. In these ways, we take ownership of our faith. However, not all of us had this opportunity when we were “coming of age” and now find ourselves in a faith stage where learning things like worship leadership, Hebrew language, Torah study and Torah reading feel important. So… let’s do this together! Whatever your age or your Jewish background, start this year long journey in a learning team. The culmination of this course will be a group adult b’nai mitzvah service on May 1, 2021.
Classes will be Wednesdays 6:30-7:30 via zoom, beginning October 7.
Classes cost $250 for the year.
