Laura Wright is the Executive Director of Temple Sholom. Laura is delighted to be part of Temple Sholom supporting innovative Jewish Programming and Belonging.  Prior to joining the Temple Sholom team, Laura’s professional experience included a variety of roles in clinical research,  academic administration, and teaching.

Since moving to Cincinnati in 2006, Laura has been actively involved in the Jewish Community. When her children were younger she taught mathematics, provided preschool/kindergarten science enrichment programming, and volunteered at Rockwern Academy.

Laura grew up in Monmouth, a small town in Illinois, and has also lived in Madison Wisconsin, San Francisco, and Washington DC. Her education includes B.S. and PhD degrees in Chemistry from Beloit College and The University of Wisconsin-Madison.  Laura discovered Judaism as an adult and has been the grateful beneficiary of numerous synagogue educational opportunities that nurtured her love of Judaism.

Laura and her husband Harry Guttman have two wonderful children, Akiva (25) and Fletcher (19), and a miniature poodle, Higgs-Boson the Dog Particle, who usually answers to “Higgy”.
