Organizations to Fill 1,000 Backpacks with School Supplies to Help Combat Youth Violence
On Monday, organizations in the Tri-State will fill 1,000 backpacks with school supplies to help fight youth violence in the city.
The Positive Force, Ennis Tait Ministries, Temple Sholom, and New Beginnings Church of the Living God, COTLG, Avondale, will pack school bags with school supplies at the ETM Innovation Space, located at 3494 Reading Road on Monday at 11 a.m. The bags will be given away at the annual Neighborhood Back2School Carnival in Avondale on August 3, 2024.
Temple Sholom has partnered with the Avondale community for a year to provide food, a safe place, and academic support for the youth, thanks to their generous monthly contributions.
“This collective effort is needful for true community violence interruption,” said Bishop Tait with New Beginnings COTLG.
“At Temple Sholom, we are proud to continue our faith tradition of Tikkun Olam, Hebrew for healing the world. We cherish our partnership with Bishop Tait and the New Beginnings Church of the Living God. It is a blessing to help them in their efforts to reduce gun violence in Cincinnati,” said Robin Miller, President of Temple Sholom.
