An Introduction to Jewish Mysticism: To Gaze Upon the Beauty of God, to Frequent His Temple

January 18 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Although we are told that God is beyond the reach of humans, the mystics never tire of seeking communion or union with the Divine. In our seminar we will learn about several trends in Jewish mysticism and understand the worldview that is formed by each. We will start our seminar with Heikhalot Literature of the first centuries, followed by the mediaeval Kabbalah in Provence and Spain and end our seminar in the Land of Israel with 16th century Lurianic Kabbalah. Taught by Rabbi Dr. Haim O. Rechnitzer.
